Courses

Ugh...I found this blog empty for almost a month! Seems that I need an alarm or reminder to make myself posting regularly.

Oke, lets start now by talking about my course in this semester. Actually I only need at least about 9 credit to finish my master. Two of them is for seminar in next year. Three is for seminar and colloqium in this semester. So, maybe only 4 credits for the two other courses. I took a lot in last semester 23 credits! Oh my God, I could not believe myself...

Okay, but many courses are interesting me. So maybe I ll take about 5-6 six courses. Lets talk about it one by one.

English Communication Skills Trhough Psychology Topics II
This course is lead in english. I took the first one and felt interested about the topic. We talk about happiness, optimism, flow, creativity and the last one:emotional intellegence.

The students who attended this class came from different country and different grade, from bachelor students untill doctoral students. More than a half is japenese people, and the rest was foreigner students such as from Indonesia (me, the one and only ^_^), Thailand, Korea, Australia, etc.

It was interesting to discuss this topic with different point of view.

Sensei told us that maybe this semester we will review some topics and then go through deeply about creativity and emotional intelegence. It will be interesting won't it?

But unfortunally, the first class was only attended by four Indonesian students.

Oke, lets see what will happen next monday...

Child Education

My 'brother' reminded me about tawazun (balancing) on writing then I remember this blog. It has been about 3 months that I let this blog empty without any posts from me. So I will start to push my self again to write here, at least once a week.

Let's start with the topic that I have to translate in the summer camp 2004. We ll discuss about Child Education.

---
Child Education

This topic is based on the famous book of Abdullah Nashih Ulwan. The book outlines the basic Islamic concepts in child education. The author has tried to coordinate the main ideas , as well as the basic precepts for raising Muslim children in all the different spheres of life. First of all, the importance of correct belief and faith cannot be inculcated in young children except through the teaching and example of their parents; and obviously the role of the mature and religious mother is foremost. Care to be taken in providing young children with all necessary elements in the fields of ethical, physical, and psychological education. It is established that the common ailments of human societies, personal as well as social, find remedy in monotheism and justice. Therefore, emphasis on these two moral principles is essential. Muslim children must develop a clear understanding of the concept of the Oneness of Allah, mainly through the performance of devotional acts. Professor Abdullah was succinctly outlined these glorious concepts in this book. Through this deep understanding of Islam and his eminent conviction and personal adherence to its glorious principles, he introduces this to the readers with all practical instructions, with the intention of helping to build up a Muslim nation worthy to uphold the honorable tenets of the Qur’an and Sunnah.
